Today, United Against Fentanyl is pleased to announce plans to relocate its official headquarters from the Los Angeles area to Washington, DC this month. This transition marks a decisive next step in our organization’s growth and reflects both the urgency of the fentanyl crisis and the need to be positioned where policy, collaboration, and national leadership converge.

“We just completed our first year of operation. And despite recent overall reductions, this crisis has never been more insidious or more cunning—especially with the emergence of new fentanyl analogs and other synthetic drugs rapidly entering the market. The threat continues to evolve, and so must our response,” said Paul Martin, Founder and CEO.

By establishing a permanent presence in Washington, DC, we will be better equipped to engage policymakers, elevate the voices of affected families and communities, and coordinate with partners across the country.

This move will initially focus on three objectives:

1. Deepening and aligning partnerships with like-minded organizations and leaders across the public and private sectors, recognizing that this national emergency demands collaboration.

2. Working to advance common-sense legislation designed to save lives, strengthen prevention, and improve how systems respond to synthetic drug trafficking and overdose prevention.

3. Strengthen our Washington, DC–based internship program to educate, empower, and prepare the next generation of leaders, advocates, and policy professionals committed to ending the synthetic drug crisis.

As part of this next phase, we are thrilled to announce our second Walk for Lives on June 13 in communities nationwide, mobilizing families, advocates, and partners across the country on the same day. We are eager to expand on the success of the inaugural event, where lifesaving education and resources were delivered across dozens of cities in 26 states, and where tens of millions of digital impressions provided needed awareness.

In addition, a national Walk for Lives flagship event will take place on the National Mall in Washington, DC on September 26, underscoring our commitment to centering this grassroots movement in the heart of the nation’s capital.

We remain firmly grounded in the lived realities of bereaved family members and communities devastated by fentanyl, while positioning our organization to more effectively advocate, collaborate, and lead at the national level.

We are deeply grateful to our supporters, partners, and volunteers whose trust, commitment, and engagement have powered our work to date. With this next chapter, we will continue to move forward with unrelenting urgency, clarity, and purpose in the fight to end the fentanyl crisis.
